Mathsville is no longer a ghost town

A friend reminded me of a blog that I started a long time ago.  It was inspired by one of my favourite classes at Kings College and it is really nice to see that they are some of my followers.  As promised to my current 7M, another great class I teach in Venezuela, I will start blogging on Mathsville again.

To start with, it´s an important time at TBSC as January exams will be taking place next week.  There are a number of excellent revision sites that will help you prepare for your exams.

KS3 -
The following sites are useful for revision material:
1)  http://www.emaths.co.uk/index.php/4-students/past-papers/ks3-sat-papers -  this link will provide to a variety of past papers.  These are useful as you can chose the level you would like to work at and all mark schemes are provided for you to check your work.

2)  www.myimaths.com -  I am sure you are all familiar with this site ;)  Please remember to use the booster packs to revise topics from your schemes of work.

3) http://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/ks3/maths/ -  this site is useful for all of your subjects, not just maths.  In particular, I find students enjoy revising from the online tests.

KS4 -
In addition to the links above, students in year 10 should use:
1)  http://www.cambridgestudents.org.uk/ -  This site is run by the examining board for your IGCSE.  It has past papers and revision checklists which will help you practice the types of questions you will come across on your mocks.

2)  http://www.khanacademy.org/  -  This is an excellent site.  It has videos which teach you the methods for all of the topics in our curriculum.  This is really useful for those topics that you still aren´t quite understanding.  Graphing inequalities comes to mind :)
